White Oak Unfinished Stair Treads

Unfinished white oak stair treads with bullnose in front

White Oak has a medium to coarse texture and is generally straight grained. We also offer Higher grain stairs such as Rift & Quartered.

Rift & Quartered White Oak sapwood is white to light brown. It has a fine texture and straight, flaked grain.

Our white oak stair treads are all made from hardwood material, which is CLEAR quality insuring no KNOT.

All wood stair treads have a bullnose on the front, meaning a rounded edge in the front of the stair tread. The wood tread is constructed by edge gluing boards together side by side. The number of boards is usually three or four.

If you want a bullnose on the side of the stair tread, order a return. A return is a separate piece with a bullnose that is attached to the side of the tread. Returns can be ordered separately.
