Birch is identified by its bright, yellowish-bronze colored bark that peels in long, thin horizontal strips. The wood is very strong, heavy, hard, and stiff with a high resistance to abrasion. It is best worked with machine tools but adapts well to hand tool use, as well. The plain, uniform grain is fine, close and evenly textured, at times found with a curly or wavy pattern.

Tigerwood, as the name suggests, is a species which exhibits a wide range of color/striping. The striping can vary from fine lines to bold “brush strokes”. The background color can range from light tans to darker orange browns.

A class of it’s own. Traditional and elegant.
The wood from the cherry tree can be described in a single word: beautiful. Its rich red-brown color deepens with age. Small dark gum flecks add to its interest. It has distinctive, unique figures and grains and exceptionally lustrous appearance that glows. The finish is satiny to the touch. Along with walnut it is the most prestigious hardwood in America. Its looks are nearly exceeded by its performance. Once dried it is particularly stable, will not warp and possesses a fine close grain that is easy to work.
